Where is the data stored?
Preferably with providers that have data centres in the EU, so storage fits GDPR requirements. If you run your own servers, the backend can run there too.
Can you take over an existing system?
Yes, after reviewing the code. I then tell you honestly whether it is worth building on or whether some parts should be rebuilt.
Who owns the code?
You do. At the end I hand over the complete source code, the API documentation and all access to servers and databases.
