Use an Android phone as a local file server for your own devices
About the app
LocalNAS turns an Android phone, for example an older one from a drawer, into a small NAS on the home network. On the host you choose which folders are shared. Other devices on the same Wi-Fi can then browse, upload, download and organise files, without a cloud account or an internet connection.
Devices connect by QR code, by discovering the host on the network or by entering its local address, with an optional 6-digit PIN for pairing. Besides the app-to-app connection, the host serves a browser drive that a laptop or a TV browser can open. A scheduled one-way backup copies a chosen folder to a paired host over Wi-Fi.

Does LocalNAS need internet?
No. Transfers run over the local Wi-Fi network. No account and no internet connection are required.
Who can access the shared folders?
Only devices on the same network that connect to the host, and only the folders the host has shared. The host can require a PIN for pairing.
